Seraphinite

Seraphinite is considered to be a semi-precious gemstone and while its availability is limited, good size, clean, natural stones are available, but found only near Lake Baikal in Eastern Siberia, Russia. The colour of Seraphinite is a deep forest green with silver striations of mica running throughout. This gives the stone an iridescent quality, the intensity of which varies with the brightness and angle of the light it is being viewed under. The best gems will incorporate that rich forest green colour with silver patterns with a moderate chatoyancy of the mica striations which gives Seraphinite jewellery its silky or pearly lustre. Seraphinite is also a semi-precious gemstone for the zodiac sign of Sagittarius (23 Nov - 20 Dec)
