Jewellery You Will Love
The most important source of malachite is Zaire although deposits are also found in the Urals, Siberia, France, South Australia, Namibia and the USA. An attractive, opaque, banded stone, colours in the bands range from a very light green to a deep green. Malachite is also a valuable copper ore and the presence of Malachite indicates large copper reserves. Mining Malachite began as early as 4000 BC and it was probably the first material to be smelted as an ore, leading to the development of metallurgy. Malachite jewellery is said to aid in the regeneration of body cells, create calm and peace, and aid sleep. Malachite is also the anniversary gemstone for the 13th year of marriage.
