Jewellery You Will Love
Ammonite jewellery is created from the fossilised remains of squid-like creatures that jetted around the oceans for nearly 330 million years and were abundant in all of the oceans until they suddenly became extinct, around the same time as the dinosaurs. Ammonite fossils can found on every continent but those found in and around Alberta, Canada, display the most vivid colours and are treasured as gemstones. Gemstone ammonite comes in an infinite array of colour combinations. The higher grades will either have a very strong, bright single colour, or contain a range of bright colours drawn from a colour spectrum vaster than a rainbow. Generally, red/green Ammonite Fossil Jewellery is more common than blue/purple, but there are certain hues, like crimson, violet and gold, that are very rare and in high demand.
