Turritella Fossil

Turritella agate is formed from fossil Turritella shells that are silicified in a chalcedony base. Turritella were spiral marine gastropods from the Miocene Epoch about 24 million years ago with elongated spiral shells composed of many whorls. Many other organic gemstones such as coral or petrified wood can also be subject to the same silicifation process and become agatised. Agatised Turritella Fossil jewellery is known for its protective properties and as with all fossils, it also said to help increase accomplishments in the area of business. Turritella Fossil jewellery also aids openness to change and new ideas. Traditionally, fossils have also been used to aid in curing diseases and ailments of the skeletal system, bones, hands, and feet.
