Rutilated Quartz
Rutilated quartz is found in Australia, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Norway, Pakistan and the United States. It is a type of quartz with needle-like rutiles (a titanium dioxide mineral) embedded in it. The rutile needles can be reddish (from the Latin ‘rutile’) or they can be golden, silvery, or on very rare occasions, greenish. Other less well known varieties are called Tourmalinated Quartz, which instead of golden rutile has black or dark green tourmaline crystals. Rutilated quartz jewellery using this attractive stone is ideal if you need to change your direction in life, soothe dark moods, or gain relief from fears, phobias and anxiety.
