Malaya Garnet

Malaya Garnet (or malaia garnet) is a light to dark, slightly pinkish, reddish or yellowish orange garnet, found in east Africa in Tanzania and Kenya. True Malaya Garnets have a peach/orange to pink/salmon colour and like all garnets, their colour saturation gets darker as the garnet becomes larger. Malaya Garnets are easy to cut and work well in almost any jewellery design and faceted Malaya Garnets are very striking and are highly sought after. Malaya garnet stones of pinkish orange or reddish orange colour can also display a colour change or colour shift, making them quite rare and very valuable.
