Jasper

Jasper is found in Germany, India, France, Russia and the USA. It is an ornamental rock composed mostly of chalcedony and microcrystalline quartz which give it colourful bands and patterns. Jasper jewellery was favoured in the ancient world and its name can be traced back in Hebrew, Assyrian, Persian, Greek and Latin. Jasper is often named according to its pattern: landscape jasper (the most popular), ribbon jasper, picture jasper, and orbicular jasper. Jasper is found in many countries. Jasper is associated with the astrological sign Taurus (21 Apr - 20 May)
