Amber

Amber is essentially fossilized tree resin and can vary in colour from yellow to red and sometimes green through to blue but its more familiar colour is a deep honey brown. Sometimes insects or pieces of vegetation are trapped in the resin. As Amber matures the process of polymerization that created it continues to take place. Amber jewellery incorporates a living gemstone that changes and evolves imperceptibly over the years. Amber is believed to ground higher energies into the earth plane, helping to bring about a balance to the mind, body and spirit and is also the birthstone for the month of August and the zodiac sign of Leo (21 July - 23 August).
