Abalone
Abalone can be considered as an organic gemstone and is usually found off the coast of South America, Japan, and China. Abalone (also known as the Ear Shell) is essentially a sea shell formed naturally from calcium carbonate as the protective exoskeleton of sea creatures. The Abalone shell reflects the colours of the ocean and incorporates ripples in its structure like the ripples made by waves in the sand.
Abalone has been used as a gemstone for centuries in jewellery and carvings and to form scared vessels in religious ceremonies. It is said to aid digestion and strengthen muscular tissue, especially the heart. Abalone is often used as a container for spirit offerings that bestow tranquillity and abundance. Since Abalone is intimately connected to the sea, it represents the tides of emotion and helps bring harmony to relationships.
